Let’s Simplify the Confusing Spa Shopping Experience
Internet Seller’s:
• It is okay to compare spa sale prices on the internet, but beware of purchasing online. Spas designed for internet sales may not include the best quality, full foam, manufacturer’s warranties and dealer service.
• Generally freight damages are not the seller’s responsibility. The buyer is responsible for the freight claim and negotiations with the freight companies, which may require the assistance of an attorney.
Manufacturer’s Warranties:
• The factory warranty replacement parts are provided by the spa manufacturer, not the spa dealer.
• The warranty service is provided by the spa dealer. Verify the spa dealer for service performance.
Interest Free Financing:
• Many dealers offer interest free financing in an effort to get the sale. The dealer has increased the spa sale price 10%-20% to include the cost of financing. The interest cost to the dealer is usually 10% - 20% APR.
• We recommend that you ask for the spa sale price without the interest free financing offer.
• We recommend that you check with US Federal Credit Union or your local credit union for financing.
Inflated Spa Sale Prices:
• Many of the spa dealers inflate their sale prices, which allow the sales person to discount the spa in an effort to make the buyers feel like they are getting a DEAL….
• Discounts may be offered on display model spas and models in stock at the warehouse. The sale price is reduced, but you may have been able to buy a new spa in your color selection at the same reduced price.
• Ask for written price quotes, “which we provide” giving you an opportunity to shop and compare price.
Spa Trade-In:
• Some spa dealer’s offer inflated trade-in allowances for your old spa. Many of the spa dealers have their spa sale prices increased to allow the retail customer a high trade-in allowance. 95% of the trade-in spas are not worth repairing. It cost the dealer extra time and money to remove and dispose of the customers old spa.
• To get the spa trade-in value, ask the spa sales person for a written price quote, which will show you the purchase cost after the spa trade-in allowance. Compare bottom line cost between spa dealers.
• Some of the spa dealers will offer a discounted sale price, if they are not required to take a spa on trade.
Chemical Free Spas:
• All spas will require some chemicals to balance the pH and kill bacteria. Ozone is many times more powerful per unit as a primary sanitizer. Ozone systems simplify water chemistry adjustments.
• Ozone is the most effective disinfection method available for a spa and reduces spa chemical use.
• Salt generators can cause corrosion to the spa jets and spa heaters, which is not covered by factory warranties.
Sales Person Commission:
• Some spa dealers hire sales people who travel from city to city to work state fairs and home shows.
• Spa sale prices are increased 10% to 15% more to pay for the sales person’s commissions, cost of travel and the cost of hotels. 15% x $8,000 spa sale price = $1,200 in extra cost to the buyer.
• We do not to hire outside sales help in an effort to keep our prices competitive for our customers.
Factory Rep Commission:
• Our spa sale prices are $1,000 - $2,000 less cost compared too many of the spa dealers. We purchase our spas factory direct and we do not pay a factory rep commission. We use our own trucks to deliver spas from the factory to our St. Paul, MN warehouse. We pass these savings onto our customers.
You will notice that our sale prices are extremely competitive and the spa is of excellent quality.
Hopefully our information will assist you in the selection of a quality spa and spa dealer.
Please request a written price quote to compare our spas to the competitors.
