Base Installation Rate

The base installation typically includes:

• Site preparation and leveling
• Installation of the pool structure
• Concrete patio blocks to support pool uprights
• Concrete patio block base for the filter system

The installation crew generally requires 8 feet of access width to bring a Bobcat excavation machine into the yard.

Base installation pricing assumes the pool site is level within 6 inches. Additional excavation beyond 6 inches may incur an additional charge.

Additional Site Preparation Costs

Certain conditions may increase installation costs, including:

• Removal of boulders
• Tree or stump removal
• Fence removal
• Debris clearing
• Haul away of sod and dirt

Out of Metro Area Installation

The standard installation base rate applies to homes located within 50 miles of our retail stores.

For installations outside this range, the subcontractor typically charges $3 per mile (one-way).

Optional Installation Services

Additional services may be added during installation:

• Plumbing a sanitizing system, such as an inline chlorinator or a Frog Mineral System
• Assembly of in-pool steps or ladder
• PVC plumbing and a concrete base for a gas pool heater
• Gas line install for pool heaters

Electrical Requirements

Swimming pools must follow the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local city regulations. A licensed electrician is recommended for electrical installation.

Typical requirements include:

• Continuous copper bonding wire around the pool frame
• Proper grounding of the pool water
• 110 Volt, 20 Amp GFCI outlet

This outlet powers:

• 1 HP pump motor: approximately 9 amps
• 1.5 HP pump motor: approximately 12 amps
• Raypak gas pool heaters (models 206A–406A): approximately 4 amps at 120v

⚠️ Do NOT use an extension cord to power the pool pump or heater. Use of an extension cord will void the warranty.

Homeowner as General Contractor

For above-ground pool installations, the homeowner acts as the general contractor. This means the homeowner coordinates any required services, such as:

• Excavation
• Electrical work
• Gas line installation (if heater is installed)
• Fence or permit requirements
